Artist Statement:

This is Me, is a portrait series showcasing queer people and people of color. Whether you're queer or a person of color there is that struggle of what is expected of you versus who you are. We are told to be a certain person to be accepted by friends, family, and society. This series explores finding your own path despite all of that and realizing the things that make you different, make you your own person. These portraits showcase vulnerability and strength, but the environment portraits also explore more of internal feelings of not fitting in, while the closer up portraits show more of the subject’s eternal strength. These portraits show who these people are and how they present themselves to the world.
